S-Video to USB device unrecognised

mark63424

I am using my Asus t100taf and want to use a WINSTARS USB AV GRABBER (Its a usb device which converts s-video and component into usb for capturing VHS tapes). I have installed the drivers on my main rig and the device works but i want to use it in something more portable like my T100TAF. However after installing the drivers the only way I can get windows to recognise it is by using an OTG cable to connect it to the tablets micro usb slot which would be great if it didn't also use that slot for charging, so i tried it in the keyboard dock which has a USB 2.0 port on it however when I do that I get an error in windows saying "Unknown USB device: Port Reset Failed" I dont understand why it works when directly connected to the tablet but not when connected through the dock to the tablet. Does anybody know how to fix this?
