im thinking of using one of these for school. if you ever owned or used one of these devices which would you recommend?

One can be a legitimate art tool, the other is a generic Dell.

Depends, do you want a big tablet that has a keyboard stuck to it, or a more traditional laptop? They will both be plenty powerful for school stuff. But I would wager that the xps 13 will have superior battery life. And in school, battery life is king. You likely won't always be sitting near a plug whilst in class and not having to carry a charger around is a huge plus.
