Posted February 3, 2017 I am not sure if it is worth it to spend more on a seagate, or to just get the cheapest 3TB drive. It will be used for storing games, movies, documents, downloads... Windows and key programs will go on an SSD. Posted February 3, 2017 Both are fine. Just go for the Toshiba drive if it's cheaper. Link to comment https://linustechtips.com/topic/732667-poll-what-hdd-to-pick/#findComment-9307702 Share on other sites

I personally have 12TB of storage, with about 3TB of free space. I have a school chromebook with 4gb of storage, and that has lasted me for 3 years now without me having to delete a single file or app. On the other hand, my desktop has a 3tb hdd and 1tb of ssd storage, and i have used about 3/4 of that storage so far. ******If you paste in text into your post, please click the "remove formatting" button for night theme users.****** CPU- Intel 6700k OC to 4.69 Ghz GPU- NVidia Geforce GTX 970 (MSI) RAM- 16gb DDR4 2400 SSD-2x500gb samsung 850 EVO(SATA) Raid 0 HDD- 2tb Seagate Case- H440 Red w/ custom lighting Motherboard - MSI Z170 Gaming A OS- Windows 10 Mouse- Razer Naga Epic Chroma, Final Mouse 2016 turney proKeyboard- Corsair k70 Cherry MX brown Link to comment https://linustechtips.com/topic/732667-poll-what-hdd-to-pick/#findComment-9307721 Share on other sites
 Pretty sure it's a bit more monies (or at least it kinda is in the UK) 2. It's a 5400RPM drive that's also just a rebranded green drive Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here... What? As I said, there seriously is nothing here Link to comment https://linustechtips.com/topic/732667-poll-what-hdd-to-pick/#findComment-9307746 Share on other sites
 Green and blue drives are being merged into just blue. Not a bad thing though, slower RPM drives have their uses. I use them in my NAS to keep vibrations down.
