So I acquired another computer last night. I was swapping ram around between all of my DDR2 computers and my other finicky computer died. :( So now I have two GPUs for one computer. An old Geforce 8800 GTS and a GTX 760. I want to use both for boinc, but I can't seem to install the drivers for both. Do I have to do something special? I know you can use two DIFFERENT GPUs in the same computer, and both are usable with boinc. I've seen it done online.

So how do I get drivers installed for both?

The computer already had the 8800 GTS drivers installed when I installed windows, so I tried installing the 760 drivers and the install just failed. Now I'm reinstalling the 8800 GTS drivers (because that's what the monitor is plugged into.)

You can have one driver for every brand of cpu, so install the newest driver that you can for the 8800gt and your fine.

Id suggest tossing the 8800gt and just use the 760, the 8800gt is way to slow to be usefull.

you can use the 8800gt as a display adapter but it will draw a bit of power from your PSU

Whenever I install the newest 8800GTS driver the 760 still isn't recognized. Perhaps I'll just use the 760. We'll see what I can do. I have a few other computers I can throw the 8800GTS into, but it's not perfect. (Those are old dell machines and the 16x PCIe slot is the top one, so the card, being double wide, doesn't fit unless I take the metal piece off in the back...)

Just a wild suggestion, but try using the

760 as the display card when installing

the driver, it might not recognize it when

its just idling there.

Thanks, I'll try that. Can't do it until tonight though cause I'm VNCing into the computer right now.
