OLD LAPTOP

So I have a old Laptop ( 7 years ) that over heats and shuts down.

I was wondering if I swap to other OS like Windows XP or Windows 7 it would get better (i'm currently on Xubuntu).

Sounds more like a hardware issue, can you check if the CPU fan is working, or if you can hear it working, open it up and use an air canister to clean it out?

I Can hear the fan working and when i look to it doesn't seem dusty but i can try to use the air canister.

I'd say it would be worse. XP might be bit better, but not much and you will have all the security issues. Win7 won't be better.

I would say windows xp if it wasn't something with discontinued support. Windows 7 so far is the best choice or you may want to move to Ubuntu.
