Help with my first pc build

I would like some opinions/tips on my planned pc build. My budget is around 1500 to 2000 USD excluding monitor(s). Im trying to go for a black and white theme. Its mostly going to be used for gaming. I did some research as this is my first build and would prefer a 1080 gpu and i intel i7 6700k cpu as im going to university in a few months and probably wont be able to afford any gpu/cpu upgrades for about 5 years.

As of monitors i would like to run 1 IPS 1440p 24" and 1 TN 1440p 24" with this rig. Would also appreciate some tips on what monitor(s) to buy, the budget for the monitors are about 350USD each.

so is there anything i can change/do better with my planned build? or do you have a completely other rig that you guys think would be better for me?

I dont know anything about cpu cooling, should i buy a liquid cpu cooler instead?

Buying an AIO liquid cooler might get you better temps and overclocks. But I'd recommend going with something bigger than that C7.

I'd maybe get a Z270 motherboard due to the BIOS and stuff...

Also, as already asked, why the Cryorig C7?

If I was in the same situation as you (I'm 2nd year of University, so I'm not too much older than you), I'd prefer a smaller M-ATX PC, as you could be moving house every year during what you Americans call 'College'.

It's an attractive white/black M-ATX build, I've cut corners on some things, but I didn't make many compromises. It's also designed to be fairly quiet (20 dbs idle, not much more at load).

 

The PSU is solid, the CPU cooler should be able to handle light OCs, the Mobo is feature rich and has RGB, i7-7700k, 2TB of mass storage plus a 240gb SATA ssd, a 1080, and I have chosen some fans.

 

I would recommend some sort of mechanical keyboard and gaming mouse if you don't own some already, they would be more than worth the money when you're stuck writing a paper, and off course when you're gaming. This PC will easily drive 1440p high refresh gaming, I don't have much in the way of monitor recommendations.

 

I would set up the fans as follows:

AF140 White LED at front, intake

Grandflex top, intake

NF-S12B rear, exhaust

 

I would set up the fans on the motherboard to go at min RPM until about 45c where they would slowly go higher, peaking at 75c.

I'm also in 2nd year of university and although I have multiple built computers I just built a Mini ITX computer which I love because it's so portable. So it's something I definitely recommend going for, that way its easier to move around. I admit I went a little overkill on aesthetics for this, but this is a black build with white lighting that would look really cool. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/77gkzM (You could use SP140 and SP120 fans instead though)
