SLI and artifacts?

i have a spare system with a 970 in it. and i can get another 970 for like $50, but it's causing artifacts alone. some lines on screen and stuff. screen is okay, but really annoying. if i put that as a second card in system, but connect monitor to first good card, will i still have artifacts or not?

two 970 will give you a preformance of (if scaled really good) little higher than 980ti/1070. I don't know if it's worth it.. I mean sure it is. Try and if it works, do it. But don't do it if it doesn't work like it should you know..

Both Cards have to work without Issues. 1 Card fails, SLI fails.

well, technically both cards are working. first one is in great shape, and second one is just giving lines on monitor when connected alone in 1gpu setup. but want to do sli with good card first and bad card second and input cables put in first. will that work?

There´s only one way to find out. 50$ is worth the risk.

Had that issue when one of my 660ti's got messed up from esd I assume.

Main RIg Corsair Air 540, I7 9900k, ASUS ROG Maximus XI Hero, G.Skill Ripjaws 3600 32GB, 3090FE, EVGA 1000G5, Acer Nitro XZ3 2560 x 1440@240hz 

 

Spare RIg Lian Li O11 AIR MINI, I7 4790K, Asus Maximus VI Extreme, G.Skill Ares 2400 32Gb, EVGA 1080ti, 1080sc 1070sc & 1060 SSC, EVGA 850GA, Acer KG251Q 1920x1080@240hz

it's vram issue. think i can fix that by baking it in oven?

i fixed my 8800gts like that in oven

Well I swapped one of the cards and it worked. So it want vram for me.
