Faulty RAM?

While playing Overwatch, I noticed my RAM usage was stuck at 4.02gb, even though I have 2x4gb installed. Windows even gives me a "Switch to windows basic for improved performance?" prompt during gameplay. I don't get this error message anywhere else, but I also don't have any other games/programs that can use 4+ gb of RAM. I ran the built in Windows memory diagnostic and got no errors (probably not a good indicator though). PS: I'm running on 64-bit Windows 7 (obligatory statement), and I get some "memory_management" BSODs, which may be related to a faulty stick of RAM. Is the next step testing the individual sticks/slots?
