Pulling the plug on your system won't hurt it. All it can do it mess with the file system(ive personally never had this issue, keep backups). Id only use a ups if poweroutages are common, and your work is critical enough to require constant uptime. For something like video editing, you losing only about 10min max, bacause autosave.

Powerless wont affect the components, just OS and system files. I would only worry if it needs to be operating 24/7 (Servers) or you have frequent power outages, otherwise it isnt really needed. 

Please quote our replys so we get a notification and can reply easily. Never cheap out on a PSU, or I will come to watch the fireworks.

Unexpected benefit of UPS probably no one else cares about: Every time I rearrange my office, I can leave my rig powered up while unplugged from the wall. This has been happening more than usual lately as I try to refine and optimize the space for VR :D

Oh, and I can keep running while unplugged during a storm... but that probably depends on your local weather conditions.
