So I'm putting links to all of the drivers for all of my hardware in my bookmarks, and I'm wondering if I need drivers for my ram, drives, or cpu.

No.

This would be stupid for the CPU or RAM. "let's make the most basic hardware unusable with out special software!" (BIOS updates notwithstanding)

I'd say that a GPU is pretty essential, or at least something that can render a basic image to a display.

Windows will take care of everything in that regard if it has proper support for the CPU architecture.

A running computer is not very useful if it can't give its users feedback.

??? A computer does not require a GPU to run. We're talking about GPUs here

Yes, but what use is a computer that can't display an image(one method of providing feedback)? A user requires a basic image output device in order for the computer to be useful.

Which is linked to the IGP found on the CPU, and sometimes a dedicated device on the motherboard.

Like I said, we are talking about GPUs here. Intel's integrated graphics thingy is NOT a GPU.

The reason we even call it a graphics processing unit is to make sure it isn't confused with the central processing unit. Central meaning it's the main processor and graphics processor meaning it only handles graphics

So Intel integrates an NVIDIA GTX 580 onto its CPU's die. Is that not a GPU anymore?
