Posted January 25, 2017 I am planing to start a new Youtube channel and therefore upgrading my current PCs GPU and i would have gone with the RX 480, because its price/performance-ratio is about as good as it gets in my country and because i wanna play some games at 1080p. But after i did some research online i saw that some programs (like Blender) benefit from Nvidias CUDA acceleration but i couldn't find any current numbers. As of right now I might pick up a GTX 1060 instead, but I'm not to sure because its price/performance-ratio is not as good as AMDs RX 480. Has anyone experience with editing/rendering on AMD/Nvidia GPUs and can help me out? Im also not to sure how important the amount of VRAM is for editing/rendering: 1060 (3gb vs 6gb), 480 (4gb vs 8gb). Posted January 25, 2017 With Blender Cycles, OPENCL on AMD tends to be somewhat faster, yet it is missing some features that are on Cuda. However, the 8 GB of VRAM on the 480 gets it my vote. Posted January 25, 2017 I would say RX 480 because it has the most VRAM and you will need it. Since I am to lazy to put something interesting here, I will put everything, but slightly abbreviated.
