RAM help

Go to solution Solved by Mr.Meerkat,

Yep, still 3000MHz as it's double data RAM where it will show up as it's running at 1500MHz in something like CPU-z but it's actually running at 3000MHz :)

BTW, don't forget to actually go into BIOS and maybe enable XMP or whatever as sometimes it may just auto run at a lower speed like 2133MHz or 2400MHz.

I buy used pc parts, as a student I really can't afford new at the minute, as yesterday I ordered some used ram from a company called CEX

I ordered "16GB of ram" for £62.50 (not bad if you ask me) and today at my door turned up 1 stick of 16GB Corsair Vengance LED 3000mhz Ram. That stick is from a 32Gb kit (2x16) so my actual question is;

WILL the single stick of RAM still work a 3000mhz? Or will it run at 1500hmz as it is from a 2 dimm kit? Please forgive me if that's a stupid question, I just wanted to know because if it's only going to run at half the speed I'll probably send it back.

Thanks in advance!
