You were looking at the "the hub" section rather than the forum index. It has nothing to do with your signature.

I am fairly interested in who would tell you that editing your signature would enable you to view sub-forums. For obvious reasons I can't bring myself to believe that a mod here would do it. As colonel said, this was your problem.

Change the sig, yes. But how would that relate to you being stuck with single category of subforums is the wonder. But in the end it's irrelevant .
