CPU Temps wtf?

My corsair h100i gtx is in rma so i am using an intel stock cooler on my 6600K 

 

When playing csgo max temp is 82*C

 

is that normal?

 

I just changed my motherboard to the Asus Aura RGB to

I have the exact cooler and cpu. I am overclocked to 4.6GHz and my highest temperature ever is 50 degrees celcius. My average temp in a game like CS:GO is 45 degrees celcius. Whats your ambient temperature? (Temperature in your room)

if the thing is going up to max speed, i'd see it get 82°c on a stock intel cooler.

 

take in mind, the thermal output isnt load dependant, it's voltage dependant (and the chip pushes that up and down to adjust its clock appropriate to the load)

unfortunately yes that sounds about right

6600k is rated at 91Watts TDP

and theres a reason why intel doesnt include stock coolers with their K series chips these days.
