So i got a new pc and i want to OC my graphics card. I have a Gigabyte 1060 G1 gaming and i was wondering if my 6600K running on stock would bottleneck my GPU with +150MHz OC on it?

No it should not. And it's not hard to test. Just play some CPU intensive games and look at CPU usage with MSI afterburner/rivatuner

but would i get more fps if i put it higher?

I managed to get it to +175 on core clock and +350 on memory. tried +200, instant crash and +185 had a huge delay in launching heaven. i'll try this OC in BF1 and a couple of games now so i'll see if it's stable

Essentially, increasing the voltage increases the speed in which components can run, at the exchange of having more heat, and a lesser life to the product.

Of course over clocking in general will do both on those two, but increasing volts will help you not crash at a 200MHz overclock, Might even get you to 4GHz which can be easily done a 6600k (I have seen people get 4.7GHz )

OP is trying to overclock his GPU not CPU.

You can't overclock a CPU with MSi Afterburner anyways.

As for voltage adjustments within MSi Afterburner, there should be a separate slider / option for the GPU voltage.

It should be "Core Voltage (mV)."

It will vary between graphics cards, but you may need to enable over volting in the MSi settings -- click on the "Settings" button inside MSi Afterburner, bottom-right corner.

For some cards, it is disabled / turned off by default.

Keep in mind 1000mV = 1.0V; 10mV = 0.01V...so the increment is very tiny -- you may need to go up in 10mV or 100mV increments.

As for overclocking your CPU, don't use software.

Use the tried-and-true (UEFI) BIOS.

If you need to, READ UP on Skylake or 6700K/6600K overclocking guides.

A ~200 MHz overclock on the GPU will not all of a sudden make the i5-6600K become a bottleneck of a straw.

The 200 MHz boost would probably give you a 5% ~ 10% Boost.

ok, how many volts should i add? i'm going for like +200MHz OC if possible. to what frequency should I OC my CPU with the Hyper212 Evo cooler?

I also have a small problem with my GPU fans. Basically they have that thing that they're silent and don't spin when GPU isn't under stress, but i changed max speed to 65% and now they spin all the time. How do i fix that?

I have seen 4.0-4.5GHZ range with the 212.

Just slowly put it up when beyond 4GHZ ( Same with vcore )

How much voltage you need will vary from card to card....One GTX 1060 to another.

Say you start off at 1.12V (or whatever the stock voltage is), and it becomes unstable at +100 MHz. Bring it up...Say...25mV (0.025V), and check again. If it isn't stable, try an extra 10mV...Or another 25mV.

You can't just say +200MHz on a GTX 1060 needs 1.180V for ALL GTX 1060.

Again, for the CPU, it will vary...But for air cooling, 4.4GHz ~ 4.6 GHz is quite common. The voltage will vary; even the LTT overclocking database, we have a bunch of i5-6600K's varying from 1.2#V ~ 1.3# / 1.40V for a 4.4 ~ 4.6 GHz overclock.

The Hyper 212 EVO is a decent cooler, and should have no issues handling 1.2#V ~ 1.3#V worth of heat generated.

Set the core Voltage to 1.2V and multiplier to 40x (100 MHz × 40 ≈ 4.0GHz) and work your way up. 41x...42x...1.2V SHOULD be okay up to 4.4 GHz most of the time.

ok thanks, but i still have a few questions.

1. On the latest version of Afterburner it says core voltage in percent (%) not mV, what is that and how do i change it that way?

2. How can i know that my CPU overclock has applied and saved and is running on 4.2 that i set it to instead of 3.5 stock speed? (i have the MSI Z170A Gaming Pro Carbon if that means anything)

3. how do i know when to stop with adding voltage to my GPU to keep it safe, but running powerful?

Just saying, why have you got a 6600k is your running it a stock?

I have a 6600k and i have no interest in overclocking it. Not everybody is interested in that. And the difference in price between the non K CPU is minimal, and the 6600k as a slightly higher stock clock than the 6600. You also have the possibility of overclocking it in the future if necessary.
