I'm not 100% sure of how YouTube and advertisements work

Just a quick question.

 

I don't run adblock because I don't mind advertisements so much and I actually want to support the YouTube channels I follow. When I skip advertisements, do they still get paid?? I know I remember Linus saying a while back that he doesn't depend on the "adsends" that YouTube gets so I know it doesn't affect him too much. I would like to support other smaller channels though.

What if you (like me) are a play all access subscriber and you dont get in-video ads on youtube anymore.  does that just generate a set revenue for a youtuber???  I pay 10 bucks a month and get 0 ads on any youtube video ever.... as well as access to stream like every song every created by man.  Worth it when youtube is one of my 2 primary sources for television based entertainment nowadays.

Yes. I too am a YouTube Red user. They make money based on how many minutes you watch IIRC.
