i3 bottleneck

Go to solution Solved by Sarcasm,

yes it will source me (i haz i3 550)

I've got a 540 paired with a 670, and the only time I bottleneck is in Battlefield.

hi guy im planing to upgrade my video card 6570 and i want to buy a gtx 760  i have an i3 530 8gb 1600 vengence memory and corsair cx 500. im afraid that the core will bottleneck it oh and will the 500 watt be enough for it ?

A PC always have a bottleneck it could be the CPU got the storage anything you'll be fine if the game isn't CPU intensive

Well, if you run games like Crysis 3 or BF4 & you get fps like 30-40 & you think you CPU isn't bottlnecking cause you got good (playable) fps, it still doesn't mean it's not bottlenecking cause, if you'd have i7 for example, you would get higher fps

If you play singleplayer it should be fine, but it will drastically limit your FPS in CPU intensive multiplayer games, like Battlefield.

Why are you planning on buying a 760 when you have an i3?

An i3 is still perfectly fine for gaming. Granted, when I bought my 670 I had (and still have) every intention of upgrading my CPU.

OP, overclock the sucker. You should be able to hit 3.6 with relative ease.

Last time I looked anything sandy bridge+ on an i3 isn't over clockable.

The 530 is a Clarkdale, and they can definitely overclock.
