USB Drive stopped working

Hello, I bought a new usb drive today that I was going to use to place files on for movie editing.

But after editing a movie and trying to render my pc freaked out and I had to hard reset it. But now suddenly my usb drive doesn't want to work anymore

When I look in device manager I see Unknown usb device (port reset failed)

Resetting my laptop doesn't do anything, 

Somebody know what I can do to fix this The files on the usb drive are quite important

return the drive and get a new one.

 

FOr files, you can normally get a data recovery service, or use your backups. The recovery service is normally 300+

Life Lesson: Important files do not get stored in only one location because important files should not be subject to a single point of failure.

try another pc / another usb drive on your laptop.

yep, you lost it unless you spend 300+ on a data recovery and try to get it.
