Hi everybody,

Just builded my new pc, here are my specs first of all:

cpu i5-6600k

mb msi 170a sli

gpu inno3d gtx 1070

ram corsair vengeance lpx 2400 mhz

psu 550w corsair 550m

EVERYTHING NOT OC

When i run aida 64 i cant do the stress test for more than 2 minutes, then it says hardware failure detected. Temps never goes over 43° celsius with cpu 100%

With prime95 same issue, after 2 minutes of testing, hardware failure detected... same temps here.

I tought that the ram could be the problem but i runned the aida64's test without stressing the ram, but i had the same issue.

The system is windows 10 64 bit and I have installed it in an empty ssd (i think it's called a clean installation)

As soon as i booted in windows I downloaded the latest drivers, without installing the ones from the cds, could be a problem?

I also had problems with some games, crashing to desktop saying : ''name of the game'' has stopped working.

Please help me :( thank you very much!

Aida 64 failed after 10 minutes.

The frequency stayed from 3.54 to 3.57 ghz (I think that's ok)

The voltage on the cpu is set on auto, and it's 1.096v. is it good?

the temperature during the test never exceeded 38° on the cpu and 40° on the single core

Should be 3.6, sounds like the baseclock is a little off. Could indicate the motherboard is unstable.

No the baseclock of the motherboard. What your CPU multiplies with. 3.54ghz means a baseclock of 98.3mhz. It should be 100mhz.

Please make a screenshot of CPU-Z during a test please.

@dariotrincas Next time tag me (@<my handle>), i'm not subscribed to the topic.

Make a USB drive with memtest86+ and run it (reboot and launch from USB stick). You're not really providing a lot of information on your own, so it's hard to diagnose something like this. So we need to start with the basics.

Hm, some weird information in there. Try downloading the latest version instead

http://www.memtest86.com/downloads/memtest86-usb.zip

Run it in UEFI, in configuration make sure it's set to all 4 CPU cores (on the login screen, bottom right is 'configuration').

Could be that it simply doesn't understand the memory new, because it's saying you're running DDR3 memory, and it's only managing a meager 11GB/s.

@Majestic Yeah I saw it, should be a ddr4 memory.

I'm very sorry that i have to ask you what does it mean to run it in eufi... noob

in your boot menu at the BIOS, you can run the disk in UEFI mode.

That's still the old version.

See, you're running 4.3.7. The one I gave is 7.2. I'm not seeing it read any of your RAM information. And check out my memory speed (GB/s) and yours. Something is wrong with your memory setup or it's not reading it properly. Or are you using only 1 dimm of RAM?

@Majestic Hey back from work, here are the results of the latest memtest.

2 errors!

Yeah, I suspected as much. Now comes the question whether it's the motherboard or the memory.

Got somewhere you can borrow a different DDR4 stick? Otherwise you'll have to RMA it.

Alternatively, try sitting the stick in a different DIMM slot. Consult manual.

Hi @Majestic

today i changed the ram slot and i did another memtest.

Failed again. here are the results.

So is it the ram for sure?

the only solution is to change the stick? If is that what ram brand do you suggest?

Tank you again for your help!

This seems like a warranty case to me. Just return it and get a 8GB kit this time. You can upgrade to 16 some time in the future aswell since you have 4 dimms.

Which one, i'm not sure. Got some websites you order from? Not familiar with Italian webshops.
