Hello guys,

Ive been having alot of trouble with my build for over year now, some days its fine and works "ok" other days its just abysmal.

my build is:

Intel i7 3960x @ 4.5Ghz (Zalman c9900 cooler)

Asus Rampage IV Extreme 2011 socket x79 Chipset.

16gb Corsair vengeance quad1800Mhz

Corsair AX850 watt

Nvidia 6GB GTX TITAN

AverMedia Live Gamer HD (PCI-E Capture Card)

Kingston hyperX 120gb SSD (OS drive)

Corsair Force 3 240gb SSD (Game drive)

2x Seagate Barracude 7200rpm 2tb (Recording drive)

Hitachi 46" full HD (connected through HDMI)

Audio-Technica ath-ad700 headset

Logitech G3 Mouse

All Graphics, Chipset, Sound, Capture drivers are up to date.

Windows 7 ultimate also up to date.

Formatted last on 27th oct 2013

Well my problem is i get bad and unstable performance. and im not under any delusion that my should pretty much dominate any game i throw at it.

In Arma 3 i can bearly pull a steady 40fps, and that before action starts. in planetside 2 its about 50fps before i get into the fire fight and then it drops to 25 in a medium density battle. battlefield 4 is only pulling 55 at the beginning of a match then drops to 35. these are just a few examples. all of these are set at ultra however even though my build was aimed at ultra setting ive tryed the lowest on all and really not getting a significant improvement A3 on lowest 54 - 29fps, PS2 60 - 33fps, and BF4 83 - 41 fps.

So am i crazy or is there a problem somewhere?

any help/ideas welcome

Thanks in advance

ARMA3 is barely beta quality so I wouldn't expect perfect performance from it. Planetside 2 is has no optimisation, however there should be a patch to increase performance significantly due shortly. BF4 has only just released and still has some optimisation to come as well as driver tweaks from NVIDIA.

with that being said though my numbers are still pretty low for the build? i have a Clevo P370sm Laptop with dual 780m and i7 4900mq and it floors my desktop in everthing.

also if you can name some other optimized game i may have it and ill get you the numbers for it.

please play some bf3, crysis or grid 2, or at least games that have optimisation. planetside is the worst ever, bf4 is still unstable, arma 3 is also beta, atleast IMO

my build gets the same frame rate as his, even without optimizing it should be better on his, or its just optimized for an i3 2120
