so, i noticed that when i start my pc, the lights in my room flash dimmer for a second, could it be linked to a crash in my pc where the gpu would stop sending signal to my monitor, which is only fixed by a force restart?

like synchronised with other electrical utilities in my house like freezers turning on at the same time?

i can play at full load for hours without it happening, the card run at 70 celsius max, 1288mhz core, 2000mhz memory, it runs fine as long as this issue is not happening.

Is it just your side of the house or the whole building? Brownouts should be checked for if the issue is localized to your home.

trying to draw more power than the wall can supply?

maybe a ups is in your future.

did you try a different outlet?

yes, it started happening in this outlet... in the one before it was working fine.

i think it's a breaker thing, and how the electricity setup is made, like when we turn on the vacuum cleaner, sometimes there is a very clear lack in the lights, and when the vacuum cleaner run at the same time as the dishwasher, sometimes both will cut and we have to reset the fuse. i'm starting to suspect this...

don't freak out about the price. just an example so you can familiarize yourself with them.......

holy bawls! so i guess it's likely that this is what causes my gpu to suddenly crash out of nowhere fo no apparent reason right? it just goes no signal, i can still hear sound. and the only way is to force restart with the button.

anyway, i will plug it back in the other outlet. and see if the crashes still persist.

It's not that expensive. The one for my server rack is about $400

you could check to see how many sound drivers are installed and disable what you're not using. ( device manager )

looking in my drivers i saw some weird shit, like xeon drivers i have a i5 6600k... this is a fresh windows 10 install. also what is c230 series chipset? i have a z170 mobo...

there are other weird drivers. got any idea what they may be? it's all installed by windows so i don't feel like starting to delete them at random...

Which one? The guy has quite a few. Also, make a different thread.

Doubt the gpu crashing would be caused by that. My whole house would do that. Lights throughout the house would flicker.

Ups did help. Ended up wiring up 2 quad boxes to their own breaker and have one pc on each.

Something to note is that the outlet may be of an older variety or you may have too many appliances plugged into one circuit on your circuit breaker or fuse-box. You can look at the individual power consumption of your appliances and computer to calculate if you are near or over the maximum wattage supplied by that circuit. If you are within ~360W (1440W/1800W) on a 15 amp circuit, or ~480W (1920W/2400W) on a 20 amp circuit (20% margin of error for building code) you should look at moving some things to a different circuit as a sudden voltage spike could trip the fuse or breaker.

If you are drawing too much from a circuit a UPS won't make the problem worse, but depending on the constant draw and how efficient your PSU is may not solve the problem.

dude, open the device manager. look for sound. open it up and see what's running.
