Hello all,

I was trying to overclock my 4790K with my custom loop (2x 360 rad with NF-F12's (GPU isn't integrated yet.)). I noticed that the Core 0 during Aida 64 was FAR higher than the rest of the cores.

HWMonitor readout is available in image

As you can see, the package and Core 0 have +- 15 C difference on full load on Aida64.

Any suggestions what could be wrong?

Overclock settings is 4,7 Ghz @1.3 V

Thanks in advance!

Is there a way I can test this for myself?

On my 4770k Core #2 & #3 are almost always 10°C lower than the other 2 cores. I suspect the thermal paste under IHS is not applied correctly and that deliding would be a huge success but whatever...

Yea, but the whole point of the 4790K was better TIM interface. Would be very... disappointing if this would be the case

I know but that doesn't mean all the refreshed Haswells are without fault.

How to test it for yourself if the sensor is faulty?

This is maybe risky but I would try pushing that core to the TJ max and see if the overheat protections kicks in.

Yea, but don't really want to try that before they are claiming I did something wrong. I might contact the shop I bought it in and ask what they can do.

Also try RealTemp...that one is officially validated by Intel.
