GTX 1080 is way overkill for 1080p.

I would recommend a 1440p ultrawide

also, get this GPU: https://www.amazon.com/ZOTAC-ZT-P10800C-10P-Wraparound-Ultra-wide-PowerBoost/dp/B01GCAVRSU/ref=sr_1_4?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1484802153&sr=1-4&keywords=GTX+1080

still a GTX 1080, better cooler, cheaper price.

1440p 165hz on 1070 only. I know it has Gsync but come on

Not everyone plays the most demanding games. Overwatch on a 1070 will easily hit over 100fps, as will a lot of games from last couple years. It's a better value to do this, 1070 + high refresh 1440p, than it is to do 1080 + 60Hz 1440p.
