Is this gpu upgrade any good?

Go to solution Solved by pwn_intended,

The 1070 will be a better call for running future games at max settings, if you say cost isn't an issue. But, a 1060 6gb will be fine for the time being though. You can expect the i5 6400 to bottleneck you a little in some poorly optimized games if you are going for 100+ fps, but should be fine for the most part.

Hello all!

Basically I have the following setup:

i5 6400

8gb ram

gtx 750 ti

I am looking for a graphics card upgrade which will suit my 60+ fps needs for gaming on 1080p for the next 3 years at least at high/ultra settings.

So far I have my eyes on the 1070 and 1060 6gb. Keep in mind that between the two of these money isn't an issue. I would like to know which do you think I should get?

Will the i5 6400 bottleneck my cpu so much that the experience will be the same as a 1060?

Thanks in advance!

p.s This is my first post here hope I did it right

The GTX 1060 6GB will be enough for 1080P.

When in doubt, re-format.

As I only have a 60hz monitor, I don't need crazy performance. Just something that is future-proof and will run smoothly. Thank you for the help!

For 3 years I would say 1070 because you don't know how games will go in 2020
