I kepe on have 2 hard drive that will disappear and re appear once in a whill or frezz when try to acces it how to sovle it on window 10 which forum topic

I  will try to transfer file and get mess show up on the screne and the hardive transfer rate show 0 bits per second

Are they old? Or have they been abused (dropped, etc.) in any way? Hard drives are sensitive like that. Do you notice any noises?

how to tell it copy from drive to pc just fine take a long time to copy back to drive

what do you think that is what I get some time when try to transfer

It sounds like the drive is failing. Noises are bad if they are anything other than the motor or the read/write head.

i hear one person tell me to just back up and that you can not tell when it is falling

There are plenty of ways to tell if a drive is failing. Noise, performance degradation, etc.

Could be a sign, might just be a USB port not delivering enough power, especially if it's disconnecting and reconnecting on it's own.

Treat ALL hard drives like they're already failing, even from the moment you plug in a brand new one. This means 3-2-1 backups.

If you suspect it's failing, back it up, and replace the drive.

3-2-1 Backup: 3 copies of your data, 2 of which are local but on different media, 1 of which is offsite.

try to backup your data, i guess. but if it indeed is failing, you'd be better not powering on the drive and letting a professional data recovery service save the data, if you really need it.
