Is this enough power?

Here soon I plan on a graphics card update, looking at the R9 280x, my question is, will my power supply be enough? I currently have a 650w, but looking online it recommends the r9 280x have a 750w psu? Is that really necessary or is that more of just a precaution on their end? I'd rather not go out and have to buy a new power supply if I can help it as the one I have currently is less than a year old...

Your RM from Corsair will be enough. I wouldn't worry! :) If you ever xFire though, I would get another.
