New rx 460 4gb

So I got a new rx 460 today and needed to know how to install it. I have tried putting it in the x16 pci slot and booting up my computer, but I get no visual (yes I plugged the hdmi cord into the graphics card and no it doesn't need any extra power) and when I take the card out, I get a boot and visuals from the mobo. I didn't install the drivers from the cd it came with because I don't have a cd drive (or an external one). Anyone know what to do?

Theres no way because I just got this card, which is a replacement of a card that was DOA, so this one should be fine.  Do i need to install drivers from amd's website? Where can i find those?

Did you disconnect any video cable that was connected on motherboard?

Try to clear CMOS and unplug your PC from the wall for a minute or two, then try to turn it back on.

Yeah. I only had a hdmi cable going to my card and I tried clearing cmos

No, you don't need drivers. The GPU should work without installing drivers.

You don't need to have installed drivers before plugging in your GPU.

Well that's weird ... can you tell us your full PC specs? I'm mostly interested in motherboard + PSU.

 

Any way to try and test that GPU in any other PC at your home? Or any of your friends can test it in their rig?

Well that's weird ... can you tell us your full PC specs? I'm mostly interested in motherboard + PSU.

Dont have anyone else that can test it

That's too bad ...

Well there shouldn't be any problem as far as it goes for your motherboard.

That PSU is bad, but should be able to run it anyway.

 

If you can't test that GPU in any other system, or testing some other GPU in your system, your best bet would be to buy new PSU. If that still won't help, you should RMA it again. Don't know what else could be the problem here.

I'm going to try the installation disk (maybe put it on a usb and put in on my pc so the autorun does its thing)

That logisys is an out-of-spec mess that will degrade your hardware, i recommend a better PSU, such as the corsair cx450m.
