liquid cooled gtx1060 6gb with HG10 970

before everybody flips out YES I DO KNOW that i could have bought a 1070 for the cost of this graphics card set up. so with that out of the way i bought a evga gtx 1060 6gb acx when they where released. it dose everything i wont it to and then some but its loud and hot. i was hitting 80c with 100% fan speed witch is way to hot for me. so after some looking around i found that the 970 fe pcb and the 1060 fe pcb looked vary close to the same. so i ordered a corsair hg10 970 and a h80i v2. the hg10 970 fit with no mods to it or the gpu. the h80iv2 worked but instead of the supplied thumb screws i used a cpu standoff to hold it down. would go with an aio with the h60 style pump on it. so now under load i hit a max of 50c with fan speeds between 1200-1300 rpm.

LOL nice mod. Not a very beefy stock cooler... These companies are becoming intel and amd.

Would this work on the gtx 1060 FE? The holes in the chip looks the same

i want to watercool it with an corsair block (I found one from NZXT but I don't like the look of that bracket) so would it fit?

Thanks,

~Sven

just for clarification, everything used for this build came with the came with the HG10 970 and H80i v2 buy? you didnt have to scrounge for other parts?  i ask cause this is the first clean and understandable build for a gtx 1060 sff card. i have one to and want to do this same build.
