which tablet is best for anime type drawing

All the intuos are basiclly the same except that some has touch and some dont, other than that its the programs you get with it, and then it all depends on how much you want to spend

I would generally recomend anything wacom, and for program i would recomend either Photoshop or Paint Tool Sai

Photoshop is one of the worst programs to do 2D art with. The line art alone is atrocious. Sai is pretty solid, though. Clip Studio Paint Pro is also a good one. My artist friends and girlfriend actually like that more than Sai which is saying a lot.

I don't have much experience with drawing tablets so I really couldn't compare but the one I have right now is the Huion 1060 PLUS (https://www.amazon.com/Huion-Graphic-Drawing-MicroSD-Express/dp/B011L3HUKM).

It has:

1. 12 Programmable buttons on the left (which I personally don't use since I have a k95 and I use its g keys as it feels better to the touch).

2. 16 Soft keys that you can program as well when you touch it with your pen (those 1-16 numbers on the top of the drawing area which I also don't use since it's a guessing game and I really just want to focus my right hand on drawing and let my left hand do the functions so I disable it and get more drawing area instead).

3. You can customize the active area (which I believe the Intuos has as well but the latter's pretty small so there's hardly a reason to use it which brings me to the next feature)

4. Huge drawing area

5. Built in card reader (which I also personally don't use since I never leave my house with it).

6. Pen feels nice and the pressure can also be customized (again I've never used another tablet so I really couldn't compare but it works how I expect it to work and haven't had a problem so far so I guess it's good).

what might have been glossed over is there is basically two types of drawing tablets: what most people consider drawing tablets, and cintiqs

normal tablets have a variety of different touch sensitivities, sizes, buttons, and sometimes touch feature; however, you use them by having them on the table in front of you, and looking at the screen above it. So you're not actually looking at what you're drawing currently.

cintiqs are like usb ipads designed specifically for drawing. they have sensitivity and features like a drawing tablet while also having a screen where you're actually drawing, so you can see what you're doing; however, cintiqs are much more expensive.

personal recommendations wise, wacom makes the best stuff. They pretty much pioneered the industry with their products, so they really know what they're doing.

The wacom intuos is probably the best choice for low cost starting; you can get one either with or without touch gestures, in 2 sizes small, or medium (think iPad mini vs iPad); as well as a different starting drawing program that they give you free with the tablet.

From personal experience, I'd say that if you really wanted to cheap out on a tablet, it's more important to get a medium sized tablet than to get a touch enabled one, that being said, or one of the drawing program bundles comes with the non-touch tablet so if you wanted a different program from wacom besides that one you'd likely have to get a touch tablet.

Then there's the Intuos pro, which is pretty much just the intuos on steroids. In addition to what the normal intuos already offers, you can also draw on paper over top of it with a pen that comes with it, and it'll record your pen strokes from the paper. (I believe you have to choose between the normal pro or the paper version though)

then you get into cintiqs, which is really out of my area of expertise. but I can tell you that wacom offers several different sizes

I also believe they have pen computers, which are pretty much like cintiqs that you can take anywheres and are exactly what they sound like they are.

wacom also made smart pads (like the intuos pro pen, minus features), and pen styluses for ipads that are supposed to allow you to get finer lines than you normally could.

as a little disclaimer, I am not affiliated with wacom (I just now noticed that it looks like I'm just praising them from the rooftops, lol), I own an intuos tablet right now myself, and I've used several cintiqs before. I have not used any of the other products (including the intuos pro) all I know about them is either from the wacom website, or has been told to me second hand.

I might add that the adobe bundle has a lot of good programs in it, maybe not any you might need, but almsot all of them are great tools for different purposes.

Starting programs I like/have used include Sai and fire alpaca.

(small note, I wrote the wacom product starting at the cheapest, moving to the most expensive)
