Tablet For Ma

So my dad contacted me asking for my opinions on what sort of tablet he should get my mother. I had to be honest in that I really don't know much about them as I've only recently gotten into modern mobile devices with my S7, which I've still barely scratched the surface of. After a couple days of thought I've come to the conclusion that she should get a Windows 8.1 or 10 tablet & I'll explain why. Although Android tablets are cheaper & offer a bigger selection, you're forced to use the YouTube App instead of just watching YouTube videos through a browser like Firefox utilizing an adblocker extension. Yes I know there's still ways to block all ads on any Android OS, but to my knowledge not without rooting which voids the warranty. For my parent's its crucial they block all ads as malware from misclicks has occurred very often in the past before use of adblockers. Unfortunately the only tablet I've been able to find that would suit her maximum needs (watching youtube in 720p) & my dad's budget $200.00 USD or less, is the RCA Cambio 10.1 2-in-1 32GB. Now I'm left with a couple questions before I contact him about this decision because for what that tablet offers, I feel there must be better choices out there for sub 200.

 

1: Is there a way to block Ads/commercials on an Android device's YouTube app that doesn't require rooting or voiding the products warranty in any way?

 

2: Does anyone know of other Windows 8.1 or 10 tablets for under $200.00 USD that'll be able to fulfill her needs I mentioned above?

just grab an ipad if there is concerns of malicious e-aids. My girlfriend's mother recently inherited one from another daughter and loves that thing. Doesn't have to be a top of the line brand new iPad Pro if this is just for casual use.

I'll look into those but dad won't buy any used electronics so I'll have to try finding a new one somewhere.

Wow thanks that one's only 99 I don't know why Best Buy wasn't showing me that one when I was browsing there last night. I'll start lookin for some YouTube reviews on it but so far looks great for the price.

Truuuuue. I just checked Amazon and the cheapest new was around $260ish for the iPad mini 2's.

Shame, I mean if I was buying it that's not bad but he's so cheap I know he wont go a penny over $200.00 lol.
