Upgrade my i5 6600k for an i7 6700k or 7700k (for gaming)

Well thats the question.

Im using an i5 6600k with my gtx 1080, some poeple say im crazy, other say I need to upgrade. So...

Upgrade to an i7 ?? And for the 6700k or 7700k?? I dont overclock because dont know how

Depends... what games do you play mainly and what monitor do you have?

Games

Ark, Overwatch, battlefield 1, SW battlefront, HoS, 7 days, Doom and others

My monitor its an 1080p 170hz 24"

Oh ya I think a CPU upgrade may very well be worth it. Especially in games like Ark, overwatch and BF1, a CPU upgrade will be quite noticeable.

my 5820k is bad in ark, that game will probably lag in a supercomputer.

Can you sell your i5 for a good price or re-purpose it? Most of those games will hit 100hz with very few issues, except for Ark since it sucks everything from the CPU instead of the GPU.
