Building first gaming PC

Go to solution Solved by Brooksie359,

Get a z270 or a z170 motherboard of you are going with a k variant cpu. That way you can overclock your cpu because you can't on a b150 motherboard. Also get a higher quality power supply. A seasonic s12ii would do the trick nicely

As I have from little to no experience with PC building I thought I should ask people who have more knowledge about it before messing things up. So here are the parts I plan on buying:

Graphics card: MSI GEFORCE GTX 1080 ARMOR 8G GDDR5X 256BIT

CPU: INTEL CORE I7-7700K KABY LAKE LGA 1151 4.2GHZ 8MB CACHE

Motherboard: ASUS B150M-C DDR4, LGA 1151 MICRO ATX, INTEL B150

RAM: CRUCIAL BALLISTIX 16GB (2X8) 2400MHZ DDR4 UDIMM

Case: THERMALTAKE VIEW 27 RING 12 GREEN, CA-1G7-00M1WN-GR

HD: TOSHIBA 1000GB SATA III 3.5", DT01ACA100 - OEM

Power Supply: EVGA 500B 500W, 80 PLUS 100-B1-0500-KR - BOX

CPU Cooler: WATER COOLER CORSAIR HYDRO SERIES H45

As I mentioned before I don't have much experience with these things so if you have any advice or noticed any incompatiblity with the parts or any missing component I would be grateful to know. Also I would like to know if with the little experience I have I will be able to build it myself or if I should find someone with experience to do it for me. Thank you already, waiting patiently for your responses!

Looks pretty goof but you need a z170 preferably a z270 motherboard

Get a better mobo, especially with those top of the line parts you dont want a b150 chipset... i dont even think that's compatible

Apple employee: "Cheetah Fast. Lightning Fast. It's Really, really, fast."

Only thing I would add would be switching HDDs. Out of personal experience, Toshiba's are the only drive that I've ever had fail on me. They're probably just rebranded WD or Seagate drives but I'd still go with one of them.

No. https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/products/10series/geforce-gtx-1080/

And you could probably run it off less. NVidia recommended >300 watts for a GTX 750; a card which only consumes a measly 55 watts of power.

That PSU has bad voltage regulation at higher temps. Switch it out for a G2.
