Moving windows from disk to USB.

What version of windows do you have on the disc?

Are we talking disk as in 3.5" or disc as in CD-ROM?

You can make .ISO of DVD. There are several software for it. My personal favorite is UltraISO. Then you use Rufus or Windows Media Creation tool to mount .ISO to USB.

 

Now, making existing Windows install to portable install will requires Pro version or upper. And it still would be new install.

 

And you don't need to buy anything. Disc and key are separate things. You can make any number of copies of disc. But you can only use key on one machine at the time.

Mediacreationtool does the download for you as well. No need to fiddle with discs. Just download Windows 10 64-bit, boot from it, fill in your key (or don't if you upgraded from a prior version, just select the correct version) and you're set.
