What you think about this one?

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820167359&cm_re=Intel_SSD_750_400GB-_-20-167-359-_-Product

I do a lot of content creation, web design and music recording.

I would like to get the fastest ssd but it appears some people say it's not the fastest... but when i read the specs... it's mostly the fastest, price is high but not that bad for 2.2gb/s read right?

Pretty sure it's been outclassed by the 960 pro from samsung

but you most likely don't need that kind of speed man, might as well get more standard SSD storage for the same money

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Try this page http://www.fastestssd.com/featured/ssd-rankings-the-fastest-solid-state-drives/#pcie

But honestly, I do similar to what you do with little to no issue running a WD Black HDD. An average consumer grade SSD is all I would recommend. Any higher and performance gain per dollar flies out the window.

I suck a typing, preparw for typos.

It says the intel is faster on this site

http://ssd.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Samsung-950-NVMe-PCIe-M2-256GB-vs-Intel-750-Series-NVMe-PCIe-400GB/m38570vsm26870

Also i think all motherboards loose 2 sata ports when using a M.2 drive and they are all slower than the Intel 750.

I want to use a new motherboard with z270 with a 7700k but they all lose some sata ports if you use a M.2 but anyway they are slower than the intel 750... or i'm wrong?

I can't loose sata ports, i already have to get a sata expansion pci card...

Use real benchmarks

PCper does a lot of SSD testing, the 750 is below the 960 pro, and below the 950 pro even in a few benchmarks

all faster than any normal person needs of course

i am extremely happy with the 960 EVO, for the price the speed difference is not much more than the 960 PRO, the pro does have a long life span, but do u really plan on keeping ur SSD for more than 100+ TBW, by them u will want to upgrade

wow ok thats fast!!!

But i will loose 1 or 2 sata ports on the motherboard... right?

I'm in the market for a motherboard that can handle well the fastest ssd and a 7700k. Any suggestions? I would like to keep all the sata ports usable if possible...

no its M.2, so ur mobo needs an M.2 slot or u can use a PCIe Adapter, no SATA slots are used at all

why does it says this then?

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/#problems

there is nothing in that Link, more than likely ur new Mobo will have M.2 slots, some of the good ones that support Kaby Lake will have dual slots, assuming u can raid those

i saw at many places you loose 1 or 2 sata port because it share the bandwidth or something like that when adding a M.2

Maybe i dont loose sata ports if the M.2 drive is on a pci-e card adapter?

Do you actually need more than 4 extra sata ports? if so you should just get a different board

But seriously you don't need an NVME SSD

Because going from a hard drive to an SSD is cutting your speeds massively, going from an SSD, to a slightly faster SSD isn't really noticeable

I need a bigger ssd, i already have one, but only 256gb and its always tight also i have to figure an issue about it because its doing 230mb/s on CrystalDiskMark.

For like what 100$ more than a normal ssd, i get like 2-3 times faster... why isnt it a valuable thing?

What's your experience using it?

Did you also tried a normal 2.5" ssd to compare how it feels when multitasking or rendering?

Enterprise stuff mostly

you might need it for like 8K video

I'm sure it's slightly nicer, but you can twice as much standard SSD storage generally speaking compared to NVME or rather a 960 pro

i have used multiple SSD's, I feel that OS loads faster with the 960 EVO, i even used 2x 240GB PNY CS1311 in Raid0, i do feel the EVO is Snappier and loads faster, files transfers are very fast too
