Oh yes, I've been waiting for this thread :D I used to not recommend a lot of the cheap FPV miniquad kits that are on the market, but the prices of good components has been coming down. You may want to check out the Xjaguar, but that might be a little too advanced for the amount of experience you have both in soldering and flying. I would recommend having a look at my cheap parts list linked in my signature, that will get you a pretty damn good quad for $317, but $420 if you want FPV. It's gotten cheaper since this time last year when I got into the hobby, but it's still not as cheap as a lot of people are comfortable spending to get into it.

If you have an xbox controller or something similar, I'd recommend downloading the DRL sim and messing around with that http://thedroneracingleague.com/simulator/. It's a great way to practice and get a feel for if this hobby is for you. *granted, using a gamepad is nothing like flying with a proper radio, but it's better than nothing.

Lastly, check out my So You Want A Drone guide, it might help answer any more questions you have and questions you didn't know you have.

I like the idea of building it but I'm not too sure I'll do a good job...it looks harder then building a PC ?

It's not that bad, just a lot of soldering. I'll probsbly do another build log when my new frame arrives.

The problem is "cheap" "good" and "drone usually don't belong in the same sentence. It's usually a "pick two" situation. The xjaguar thing is pretty cool, its almost like Lego with how the parts fit together. The one thing is you really need to know how to solder because that's half the life of an fpv pilot. Maybe even like a shuriken 180. Check out UAVfutures and RCModelReviews, they both have a lot of reviews on more affordable aircraft.

The other thing is once you get a solid aircraft, the equipment gets expensive quickly. Nice Fatshark goggles cost in excess of $300 and a nice video receiver module with antenna diversity is about $100 more. The radio of choice of most miniquad pilots, the Frsky Taranis, is around $200 if you buy it from the right place. That being said, these two pieces of equipment I just mentioned are very popular and well supported. There are also cheaper alternatives coming onto the market such as the Turnigy Evolution radio and Quanum Cyclops fpv headset monstrosity.

edit: don't even get me started on batteries. The tldr of that story is it's worth it to spend $30 per battery and buy at least 6 of them.
