Hey guys,

So recently I moved my secondary rig into a new case, but I have a problem with the PSU. It turns on for a split second then off and after that I have to unplug the power cord then plug it back in in order for it to do it again. It's a Cooler Master V650. I upgraded from it to a RM850i in my main rig a year ago and never touched it for a while. Then when I upgraded from AMD to Intel, I tried to test the new board and CPU with it and it was doing what it's doing now with the secondary rig. Then I pulled out my RM850i from my main rig to test the board/CPU with it and it worked.

Fast forward a couple of months and I had most of the parts I needed for a secondary build except the PSU. I tried to turn them on with the "faulty" PSU and it somehow worked. So I built my secondary rig and everything was working but I haven't used the secondary rig for a while because the side panels were missing and I didn't want my new dog to mess it up, so I bought a new case. I installed all the components in it and it worked fine at first. Then I opened it up again because I forgot to plug in some case fans and it started turning off after a split second again. I unplugged those fans to make sure its not because of them and it continued doing it... Is there anything I could try to do to this PSU? I don't wanna buy a new one because I'm currently saving money for a Ryzen CPU (AMD fan :P). If I really have to buy a new one, what would you suggest for 50-60$? I was thinking of the Seasonic S12II 520W because I had it before and it served me well (died due to a watercooling leak).

Here are the specs of my secondary rig.

FX 8350 @ Stock

12GB XMS3 RAM

Gigabyte 990FXA UD5

Reference 980 Ti @ 1392Mhz

Segotep EOS Silver case

120GB Intel 535 SSD

Oh and by the way, the only issue I when the secondary build was working, in the old case, was it turning on by itself when I put it to sleep via Windows.

Thanks.

You can get the S12II 620w for $50 at BH right now. I would for sure suggest that one. Theyre not the best quality but they will serve well for a 8350 and 980ti. Especially if its a secondary rig
