SP fans or AF fans for cases?

Rahul3D

Hello Friends

I am planning to build new PC. I am into VFX and 3D animation. I do not want to go for liquid cooling. I might go for RAM over clocking not CPU over clocking.

I am gonna buy.My confusion is it should be SP or AF and what should be minimum RPM to be there?

Corsair 460x case

i7 6800K (Brodwell-E)

3 120mm fans at Front

1 120 mm exhaust fan.

CPU cooler Noctua NH-D15S

Thanks

Make your 3 front fans high SP and the one rear high AF if possible.

All fans have some degree of static pressure and airflow. The 460X isn't that restrictive at the front and any sort of balanced fan design would work fine.

Why not just stick with the stock fans?

Also a bit curious about the oc'ing--why oc the ram and not the cpu?

I live in india so getting the perfect case we wish is difficult... So if i get 460x not 460x RGB then i have to keep the fan buying option open.

I mostly do not overclock and work, but this time i might do a both overclocked :)

Are there any of the shops that you can link us to?

Not the names specifically but links to the stores. It's hard to give a recommendation when we don't know what's available to you.

There aren't that many options available but out of the two websites, I'd suggest going with NF-S12B's: http://www.primeabgb.com/online-price-reviews-india/noctua-nf-s12b-redux-1200-pwm-sso-bearing-fan-2/

(Kinda interesting that they use an image of the NF-P14S for all their Redux fan listings)

or NF-A15's: http://www.primeabgb.com/online-price-reviews-india/noctua-nf-a15-pwm-140mm-premium-quiet-quality-fan-with-round-frame-aao-technology/

MasterFan Pros are alright but are more expensive and not as good as NF-S12B's.

Why would you need such high rpm? If you care at all about noise, you'd probably never run them above 1000rpm and you'd never need to.

With just a 6800k and a 750 Ti, a single rear exhaust would've already been plenty for cooling.

I do not have AC in my room, in india it usual to get hot. So i need more fans with high rpm so they ciuld intake air from outside. I hope you got it :)
