What I have:

i7-4770k

msi gd65 gaming

16gb 1600mhz G. Skill
Rosewill Fortress 750watt psu
Thor v2 case

1tb hdd

What i'm getting:
Asus gtx 780

nvidia shield (I know its not system related, but i figured id put it on here)

128gb or 256gb ssd (depends on money)

corsair keyboard and mouse

Monitor (I need help with that)
Water cooling
& maybe a soundcard

I'd appreciate some input as to what monitor and ssd I should get. Also is a sound card even needed? I didn't know if it would make much of a difference, but I figured id see what the majority thought. Let me know what you think, I'm open to all opinions.

Don't get a sound card, if you need one, get an external amp/DAC. That would depend on your headphones though.

For a monitor, I suggest getting an IPS monitor for better colours, it really makes a difference.

just some tips
nice keyboard and mouse is a HUGE changer while doing anything on your computer. so definitly a mechanical keyboard and a mouse that you find comfortable
IPS display for sure. everything just looks so beutiful compared tn panels

high end ssd's arent always the choice. i have a kingston 3k and tried an 840 pro. i cant see the difference at ALL and it costs considerably less.
an external dac/amp would be ideal if you have a nice pair of headphones. but todays integrated sound is really nice and u may not even notice and difference at all. they can support higher end headphones

Ive been buying most of my stuff on Newegg, mainly because of their random discounts and what not. As for budget, I just save until i can get the pieces I want. I plan on using the PC to play games alot and eventually start making videos.

If you're not buying now, plan later--2-3 days before buying at most. Parts and prices change frequently.
