This PC would mostly be used for 1080p gaming, as well as some video editing, while staying around the $700 price point. WiFi is a must. This build is mostly focused on value (it's also my first parts list.) So what do you think?

try to wait for ryzen

<p>Wish I could have this already!! : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/qTLRjX

Looks decent. I'd go with an i3 and a cheap motherboard instead though.

I think you can do way better than that. Grab this.

It's much, much better around $700. If you absolutely can't go over $700, here's a bonus AMD build

The intel 6500 processor is double the price of the AMD. Is it really necessary for a PC that's mostly going to be used for gaming?

There is quite a huge difference. Your athlon would be even weaker than FX series

what they're trying to say mostly is that there are better options than a lot of what's on your list

If you want to go amd, it'd probably be smartest to wait for ryzen to come out, otherwise intel is a smarter choice right now

personal choices I'd make:

get a 128gb ssd and a 1tb hdd, more data, same startup time.

gpu looks fine, you don't need more than 8gb of ram, but 16gb is great

that wifi card is probably all you need

make sure you put your components into a power calculator to make sure you can actually run it (it's always better to have more ehad room, than to risk the roof falling on you)

motherboard wise as long as you get a lower end newer model one you should be fine (make sure it's an overclocking board if you get an overclocking cpu)

and I'll just direct you to this video for picking cpus

(this might help too)

Ok thanks for all the replies! Based on what you all said, I'm probably just going to go with intel or wait for ryzen.
