Hello people im building a speaker and i was wondering about audio cross overs and what wattage i would need if i used one 100w 8ohm tweeter and a 200 watt 8ohm woofer would i need a 300 watt audio crossover and if it would need to be 3 way or 2 way or 200 watt or more please let me know!

The wattage is for the total.

 

2 way for 2 speakers.

 

ALso you probably never gonna show 300w in it(You probably don't have a amp that can output that much), so a 100w crossover will be fine.

ok so it would be two way as i have a tweeter and a woofer?

You could use two amps and a external cross over. Then it doesnt matter what wattage stuff is.
If its 300 watts all components should be rated to that. Dont skimp out on getting a lesser product because it wont normally reach it.
Frequency response of the speakers determines cross over point so unless you have a adjustable cross over you will need to work that out first.
