Mid way through purchasing all the parts for a new rig I currently don't have any form of gaming PC.

I've been waiting for 7700k Z270 and 1080ti but I am tempted to see what Zen and how well AMD new GPUs perform.

As ref parts currently have

Nzxt h400 case

Nzxt x62 AIO

16GB DDR4 Ram

SSD - data

850w Corsair PSU

Any advice you can offer me?

It's funny, cause you act like you're from the future and know how a product that doesn't exist performs!

oh it defiantly exists, just not pulically. Also with simulations, we basically know how fast cpu's and gpu's will be for the next 5 ish years.

No it does not exist for consumers or reviewers currently, there are 0 in circulation.

It's supposed to be released this year, it has not been released yet so for all intensive purpouses it does not exist.

good job i'm not either of those. someone has to test those motherboard bios you know. you dont make a motherboard and then release it with no cpus!

Also i am pretty sure 1 reviewer is helping asus do so work on there boards.

That's not called a reviewer, that's called an electrical engineer. And they do not make reviews, they build circuits and firmware.

i'm pretty sure they are allowed to write reviews as well.

Not with an NDA. Also, go try to find one reviewer that is an electrical engineer that works on designing motherboards, you won't find one.

Being a reviewer is one job, being an electrical engineer is another.

If you have time to do both then you must be special.

Either way, no you do not own a ryzen CPU, no you do not know its price, and no you do not know its performance, so please stop trying to derail the thread.

he hasnt published anything about ryzen yet cos nda obviously. and amd own the engineering sample cpu's there are no retail cpu or even final stepping cpu yet. the boost is different on every stepping. some dont even boost at all.

Thanks for the input so far, for me on the CPU it's the single core performance that may decide what I go for...

What I am after is something that can handle 4k or possibly ultra wide at 60fps or close enough to it.

I have seen the AMD benchmarks showing their GPUs can reach this on certain titles but I am hoping if the 1080ti that will supply enough grunt for what I want.

I think cut off date for me is late Feb so will have to go for what's out then, been saving for about a year now for this PC can only wait so long.

Does anybody now with AMD stuff will be released by then?
