What Is That Cable On An LED Strip?

BlakeThePCScrub

I'm looking into buying these; https://www.amazon.com/COLORBLOOM-Multi-Color-Changing-Starter-Kit/dp/B00XM9OXHW/ref=sr_1_7?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1483609028&sr=1-7&keywords=philips++hue+led+strip led strips for on the back of my corner desk to add a nice glow to my new setup, the only problem is I'm unsure on what that cable is for, I did my best with google but couldn't find anything. *I'm talking about the aux looking tip with a yellow ring*

Any help is appreciated :)

It's the power cord for them. The yellow tip plug is a standard DC plug that goes into the jack at the end of the light strip. And then the other end of the box (inverter) plugs into the wall for AC power.

Cheers, sorry for that question, feel kind of dumb but I'm 13 and rarely deal with power cables outside of audio and pc.

Because I'm Australian and use IEC/3 point plugs will I require an adapter?

Its says right in the features that kit comes with power adapter. It will be for US outlets, so if you use something else in Australia, you need basic adapter in between.
