Well when I mean "4k" I don't mean $4000. Believe me I wish I did. I mean a 4k2k TV. No it is not for gaming, there is no way I would game at 30Hz (30FPS). It's for video playback. The computer right now is this. Do I need anymore upgrades? I'm definitely upgrading the GPU to at least a 660. Do I need more RAM, or a better processor? or is it fine? I'd like to know what you'd think.

Video playback is pretty much child's play at any resolution.  There is zero rendering that takes place, the GPU just sends out a premade list of pixel colors, basically.  If your display connection has the bandwidth, you're good to go.

GTX 660 will be heavily bottlenecked by that CPU and since you arent gaming you dont need such powerful card at all.

if you only want video playback that 520GT you got there should work IF IT ACTUALLY supports 4k resolution.

If not I'd get something like Radeon 7750/7770 again if they support 4k because im not sure which GPUs do support 4k at this point of time.

][ CPU: Phenom II x6 1045t @3,7GHz ][ GPU: GTX 660 2GB ][ Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P ][ RAM: 8GB @1450Mhz CL9 DDR3 ][ PSU: Chieftec 500AB A ][ Case: SilentiumPC Regnum L50 ][ CPU Cooler: CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Evo & Arctic MX4 ][

I have the GTX 660 :P Well on a different computer the cpu is an Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 and it doesn't bottleneck neither does the Athlon X4 750k so it should be fine. I'll try the GT520 with 4k and I hope it works but I have the GTX 660 on hand if it doesn't.

If you're getting a 4k display regardless, get it first and upgrade if you find you need to.

The graphical performance of your GTX 760 should hold out in-terms of playing modern titles such as BF4, COD (>_>) Not saying it'll obliterate anything but it's more or less likely still going to be playable.

If your in-game playing online and your fps tanks (just plummets) you should consider either upgrading if possible or getting a monitor that uses Nvidia's "G-SYNC" technology as this is probably one of the greatest marvel's bestow upon consumer grade electronics that actually works besides GTX Titan and 780 :P. Just as a note the Monitor vendors such as Phillips, BenQ, Asus and ViewSonic are currently the 4 known monitor vendors who've signed a contract with nvidia since the initial 780Ti release on Oct,18 2013.

G-Sync will really improve FPS drops to a minimum and maximum. Unfortunately the colour accuracy of the new monitors are "TN" which are incredibly great monitors in terms of low latency meaning faster gestures/reaction/low ms=Better :D.

8Gigs of ram is more than enough "for now atleast" in modern triple AAA game titles and if your running a dual channel memory kit which you are it'll more or less likely be upgrading by getting another 8Gigs next Q1 2014 or at a later date. If it's aim soaring high for BF4 it probably segments into if you want Capacity with "1600mhz freq" which is common vs 16GB ram running 2400mhz there is a minuscule difference between maybe a 2-4FPS difference if a game title can support and utilize the frequency

I'm suprised you don't want a SSD but sometimes it's just doesn't cut into anyone's budget. But if you ever need one now or your patience enough to wait until next Q1 of 2014 you can probably buy intel's overclockable SSD's are jam them into your PC.
