770 or 280x?

Well, for my new build (have no other graphics card) I will need a GPU, (Don't ask about the build, I just need to choose the GPU). The 770 and R9 280x are both the same price now (I will be getting the Asus Direct CUII version for both of them). Which one is a better card?

 

Pros of the 280x:Mantle and Never Settle Reloaded(is it for the new cards too? need to get this clarified). 3 GB VRAM

Pros of the 770:3 new games, Shadowplay.

Usually, the 7970/R9-280X is faster than the GTX 680/770, so I would go with the R9-290X.

imo, GTX 770, but the 280x performs better so it's up to you whether you want AMD's features or Nvidia's features, think of them as investments that just parts you slap in for performance, that will help you determine what you need/want and which card will achieve that

if performance is all you care about then 280x is the choice. if you want some of nvidias features over performance then do that

if you are really into bf4 then get a 280x if not get a 770

Nope, no Never Settle for now. AMD has announced that it will most likely not come to the R 200 series.

 

However, 280x has more memory which may come in handy in the future (future proof )
