Alright, so I just found a used Xeon E5645. So I was wondering if it would be alright for gaming, I already have a compatible socket 1366 motherboard, with an I7 920. So what would be better? I'm trying to stay within a budget, so if you come with any recommendations, then please nothing too expensive.  Thanks:)

Do you think an i7 930 would be better? :)

Please watch this video, I do believe the Xeon is alright for gaming. I know in the video it's a X5650, still though.

And overclocking is also an option.

:)

I have an 4.0Ghz OC 1.25vcore on my i7-930 with a Gigabyte X58A-UD3R mobo. Idles at around 35-40c max load prime95 around 75-80c and that is with a Deep cool Gammaxx 300 CPU cooler.

I myself am looking at getting a Xeon X5650 as an upgrade from the 930 but in terms of longevity this chip is great I have had the same over clock for 1 and a half years and it has never given me an issue.
