Hello so recently I used shadowplay to record my games, but now that I got a second monitor the recording is shit. My question is, what recorders are actually good for pc gaming, for example games like minecraft, watch dogs 2, fifa 17, gta 5, cod, and games like that. Also if you suggest one could you give me some render setting/recording settings, thanks

CPU - i7-4790k

GPU - MSI 980 Ti

If you don't care about file sizes then use DXtory with MagicYUV (YUV 4:2:0). You'll get really big files with PERFECT quality which you can edit down to what you want. You'll need HDD's/SSD with write speeds of at least 150MB/s, probably more though. I can tell you for certain that the codec will do 4K@60fps just fine if your pc can push it out. Will cost you around 300GB for 30mins though.

Otherwise you can use OBS with whatever bitrate you feel is good enough (play around with it and keep raising it until you find it good enough).

OBS is alright, but I noticed that there is slight FPS drop. Another one is bandicam, I used it for a long time, but the free version has watermarks so it's kinda annoying, but through googling and finding the right youtube video... I don't want to break the rules so let's continue.. Also with bandicam there are some fps drops (maybe?) back in the day I had a crappy gpu so I didn't think about the frames. With shadowplay there are small to no fps drops and overall I like it a lot. I'd suggest OBS if shadowplay isn't your thing. I have no experience with DXtory and people are complaining about Fraps everywhere.
