Nokia pursues HTC sales ban in UK after patent victory

ETRJ

This is just bad for HTC and will do no good for Nokia. Those who would buy a One will now buy an S4. Problem solved :P

Although Lumia sales have been increasing slowly

Hopefully HTC haven't infringed on the same patents with the upcoming HTC M8.

I really don't know What Nokia thinks it's going to gain by doing this. If the HTC One gets banned, people are just going to get the S4 or Nexus 5. It's not going to make more people buy Nokia handsets. I understand the principal of the matter, but banning a handset that hasn't sold that well anyway seems silly.

In EU, it is fully legal to import goods from any other EU country. So this has no effect on HTC what so ever. British retailers will just import the phones from an import company in France or something.

Also this is obviously not a NOKIA (nock-ja), but an MS thing since they own them now. Its part of the thermo nuclear war between all the smartphone derp companies. (thanks Obama)

How long do patents last? If I remember correctly, someone told me 15 years but I think that might just be in the states.

Anyways, HTC should do what Microsoft is doing with the Xbox One Blu-Ray drive, They have to pay Sony some money from their sales ($3.00 USD or something like that) to be able to put a Blu-Ray drive in their console. "Royalty" is what I think it's called, right?

But why is this only in UK? That's just stupid. If you're going to sue HTC then you should do it properly and ban HTC One in whole Europe for example.

Well, that whole thing is stupid anyways. Hey, Nokia! Painukaa kuuseen! My next phone is going to be Jolla.
