Hey there Guys,

I have recently built to what I consider a fairly good gaming machine because I decided I wanted to move over from console gaming to pc. My computer specs are:-

 Pro:Intel i7 4770k

 RAM:16gb of Kingston 2400mhz ram

 GPU:Geforce Gtx 770

HD:WD Caviar Black 1TB HD (hopefully get a few SSD's soon)

 PSU:Corsair GS700 PSU

 Motherboard: Asus maximus VI Hero

Anyhow - because I spent all of my money on the above components I have recently had to use my old Toshiba television as a monitor which is 720pp :( (I am now). I am now looking to buy a monitor for gaming, but not just fast fps's such as CS:GO, COD, BF4. I do play the latter games but I am also a huge fan of games such as Skyrim, Fallout, The Witcher, AC etc.

Long story short, the question on everyones minds:-

What monitor do I get from the vast array on offer? (Money isn't a problem too much - I was looking to around £400 max)

Sorry I just read through all of the comments and realised how much I messed this up aha - Sorry I am new :D

I live in the UK and as stated above I was looking to spend around £400 on a monitor. I want something that it has good colour reproduction and generally looks gorgeous for games such as Skyrim. But as I also play fps such as the ones stated above I was unsure whether it needed to be above 60hz.

No I didn't die.

Yes I have a keyboard & mouse.

Yes I f***** this up :P/

 Thank you so much (:

I like the look of the first one, especially with the resolution. Just out of curiosity, do you know how good it is for gaming? In terms of its refresh rate, would it be adequate? Initially I was looking too BenQ for a monitor by from what I hear, ASUS definitely are a big competitor.

What would your opinion be on waiting for G-Sync? I don't know too much about it.

if you can wait for the G Sync monitors with your nvidia card its probably worth it here is a detailed article on it to get an idea of what it is http://www.anandtech.com/show/7436/nvidias-gsync-attempting-to-revolutionize-gaming-via-smoothness

but the 2560x1440 is good for gaming and this one has a 5ms refresh rate it should be good here is video Linus did on the monitor

Alright (: I want to pick up at 780 whence the 780ti is out or even just a 780ti ahah (:

Well, if you can sell the 770 for a nice price and grab the 780. Then do that! For monitor, well for a gaming monitor at least.. Linus did a video off what he called the best gaming LCD he ever seen.

Here is the topic off it: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/68789-benq-xl2420te-where-to-buy/

But, I would highly suggest yourself to wait for the G-sync supportive monitors. (I am not that up to date with it, so I can't tell if they are allready out or not..sorry for that)

That isn't a bad idea (selling the 770 for the 780(ti)) That thought hadn't actually crossed my mind so thanks for that. As for the LED LCD monitor, it's pretty damn nice, I saw Linus' unboxing of it and I thought it was awesome. Shame about how hard it is to find in the UK as well as the cost.

Yes I know, I actually haven't even found the TE version yet here in europe. No idea what it stands for, but still. Hard to get screen haha.
