Help with unstable Ram

I've been using this set of Ram for the past few years while only being able to use 3 of the sticks. Putting the fourth one in regardless of slot used to cause various bluescreens, but now it doesn't even boot at all with it in.

One day I decided to increase the voltage from the stock 1.5 to 1.52 and the system actually booted up and worked the entire day with the fourth stick in. It stopped working the next day when I tried to start it up and it went into an infinite booting cycle. Basically, I'm wondering if there's a better way of going about this instead of just increasing the voltage.

My motherboard is the Maximus V formula and I ran memory tests back in the day when the stick still worked at stock with no problems.

You should probably just RMA the ram.(RAM usually has a lifetime warranty.) Test the motherboard with different ram.

I thought about it but if it's just a matter of increasing some numbers in the bios then I'd rather do that before a RMA

Edit: forgot to mention that I don't have any other ddr3 ram on hand so RMA would be my last option since I would be left without a working pc

Get the RMA. You can ask them if you can send just the one stick. Changing numbers is just asking for trouble if you don't know what you're (or we're) doing.
