PC powers off without warning

Hi,

 

The last couple of days my PC keeps powering off without warning no blue screen or anything. I have the AX860i which was an RMA replacement for my AX750 and at the moment that is the only thing I suspect is doing this I need help with troubleshooting as I am at loss as to what it could be any ideas what could possibly cause a PC to just power off without warning.

Is the CPU overclocked? Have you ran a memory diagnostic?

No my CPU use to be overclocked but I set it back to stock speeds the memory is Gskill V series I got it about a month ago replaced my corsair memory with it I was told that if it was memory it would blue screen rather than just go off completely but I will try a memory test

Yea it should typically bluescreen or just lockup if the problem is memory bound. It's never a bad idea to check though.

It's 88% through test 1 and no issues so far any other ideas if it turns out not to be the ram. Could it be power supply I dont think cpu is causing it or hope not 5960x isnt cheap to replace what does the self test, test for on corsair psu's is it just a simple on off test or does it test it at any sort of load?
